Bethesda cybersecurity firm is now authorized to conduct CMMC Level 2 certification assessments for defense contractors.
BETHESDA, Md. — July 10, 2026 — CyNtell (CyNtelligent Solutions, LLC), a Bethesda, Maryland cybersecurity firm, today announced that it is an Authorized CMMC Third-Party Assessment Organization (C3PAO). The Cyber AB, the official accreditation body of the CMMC ecosystem, granted the authorization on July 7th, 2026. As an Authorized C3PAO, CyNtell can conduct Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 certification assessments of companies in the Defense Industrial Base.
CyNtell’s authorization means defense contractors and their suppliers can now look to a Maryland-based firm for independent CMMC Level 2 certification assessments. A C3PAO is the organization that evaluates whether a company handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) has implemented the 110 security requirements of NIST SP 800-171 and can prove it.
The Cyber AB authorizes C3PAOs only after they meet the CMMC ecosystem’s requirements for assessor qualification, quality and independence. CyNtell’s authorization recognizes that its assessment practice meets that standard.
